I would like to start off by thanking the parents who came
and cooked the BBQ for all the athletes on Saturday, as well as all the parents
who brought food and made sure it was a great experience for the athletes. The food was excellent, the weather was
perfect, and the athletes had fun playing Frisbee and baseball after the
meet. What an excellent way to spend a
Saturday afternoon!
For the individual athletes, it was a very successful
meet. 42 athletes had new PR’s. Jackson Marshall got 3rd overall
for 11th graders, and 12th out of all athletes with a
time of 15:12. Ralphy Lara got 18th
overall for 10th graders.
Maddy Bradford got 10th overall for 11th graders and 25th
out of all athletes. Kyle Oefelein got 15th overall for
11th graders and 47th out of all athletes., Alyssa Gutcher got 8th for seniors
and 21st out of all athletes.
The Varsity boys took 6th in their Race, with a time of
81:18, Compared to 78:51 in 11’ (fastest ever), 80:22 in ’09, 79:26 in ’08,
80:37 in ’06, 82:24 in ’05, 82:23 in ’04, 85:57 in ’03, and 83:54 in ’02. This
was 21st overall for all schools, and 2nd for league
schools (behind CDM).
The Varsity girls ran 93:00, compared to 90:44 in ’11 (fastest ever), 92:06 in ’10, 97:51 in ’09 , 97:29 in ’08, 91:27 in ’06, 93:08 in ’05, 95:14 in ’04, 96:12 in ’03, 94:55 ’02, 93:53 ’01, 95:16 ’00 and 92:49 ’99. This time placed them 11th in their sweepstakes race, and 12th out of all schools, as well as 2nd for the league schools (behind Northwood).
Frosh girls took 5th in their Race with a team time of 105:09. Freshman boys took 8th in their race with a team time of 91:50. JV Girls took 3rd in their race with a team time of 102:56. Sophmore Boys took 4th in their Race with a team time of 89:39. JV Boys took 3rd in their race with a team time of 88:31
Athletes of the Week: Jackson Marshall ran a great race, finishing 1st in his race with a time of 15:12, and Alyssa Gutcher who lead the Varsity girls with an 18:05 time.
Most Improved: Anish Reddy ran a new PR of 17:22, getting close to the Varsity times and Bianca Moreno who ran a 20:26, getting very close to the Varsity time as well as having great PR.
Rookie of the meet: Evan Duran had a great breakthrough race, dropping his PR by 1 ½ minutes to 18:54. Jessica Sugiura, ran a new PR time of 20:52.
Week’s Schedule:

Thursday is Picture Day. You will need to bring your uniform to school
to get your pictures. We will have a
workout that day, so you may want to bring other clothes to run in.

We will have a bus for this meet.
It will leave at 11:00 a.m. You will be dismissed at 11:00 Come
dressed for the meet from home and hurry out to the bus. Bring your lunch and drink to have on the
bus. Be sure to go to your 5th
period class tutorial on Thursday to get what you will miss on Friday.
