Cross Country Newsletter September
22nd – 27th
The Woodbridge Invitational was another great event! Thank
You to all those who worked the many hours to make this event a
possibility! We had a new location, a
new course, and all the challenges that would come with that. We had 11,220 runners compete over the
weekend at our event, in what I believe to be the best invitational there is!
Boys ran a team time of 78:13, and ranked 39th
out of 253 boy’s teams.
Girls ran 95:01, and was ranked 64th out of 244
Girls teams.
Athletes of the Meet: Ralphy Lara was in a 7 way tie for 92 place in the meet
for the boys with a time of 15:09, also setting a new PR for himself.
Emilie Birchler ran 19:09 to run a very solid 4th
place for our varsity girls team.
I would also like to congratulate the 70 athletes that had
new season PR’s at the meet!
Reminder: You need to be taking care of yourselves in
your warm down and daily routines. I
have been seeing a lot of athletes that are not warming down, not taking ice
baths, not stretching etc. By not doing
these things, you are not getting yourself ready for the next workout/race and
thus impacting your training.
This week: The next two weeks will be heavy training
weeks for us, as we work towards OC Championships and our first league
meet. Make sure you continue to take
good care of yourself!
